Vestry Minutes
July 11, 2007
All l
present except AlanG, DebP, and SteveH.
Meeting
ran from 705 pm to about 810 pm
Discussed
car. LG reviewed the buy out he was able to arrange with Saccucci and the
savings that resulted. He had sent an email with the figures I will include in
the final minutes.
Discussed
the rectory. Basically MZ said that Mike Hill had a couple lined up for
$1400/mo, that they wanted to move in almost as soon as possible, but it would
be temperory as the couple would be looking to buy or build in the area. MZ
advised that Mike Hill would do all the leg work and contract work, including
the credit check, at no cost to HTC.
We
asked MZ to ask Mike Hill to try to get some form of short commitment (several
months at least), but to not make that a deal breaker. Also, no motorcycles.
We also
generally concluded that we (HTC) did not really want to farm out the rectory
to a true full-time property manager, just get professional help in
finding and checking on new tenants. HTC is perfectly capable of managing the
on-going rental.
Then we
briefly discussed the additional Peck endowment status and what to do with it
and how to handle announcement. No formal decisions.
Bill
lopes reviewed the list of 'projects' for the rectory stemming from the
walk-through with the last occupant. Major items in need of attention were
boiler repairs, garage door replacement, and windows (Bay windows, not
the ones not replaced two years ago). Other items were the water leak in the
basement, repositioning one of the thermostats, completing repairs on the
downstairs toilet, and some painting which can wait. Longer term, perhaps
new cabinets or at least painting the kitchen cabinets, and painting the
outside.
This
discussion also crossed over to the broken storm window protecting the stained
glass window over the altar.
The
vestry voted to authorize up to $15,000 to cover the church window and
near-term rectory repairs noted above.
